Join the LF Energy Open Source Program Office (OSPO) Special Interest Group (SIG) Meet-up to connect with OSPO peers from TSO's, DSO's, vendors, universities, and open source foundations who are advancing open source adoption across the energy sector.

What to expect
This interactive, in-person meet-up will bring together OSPO practitioners to exchange experiences, discuss challenges, and explore opportunities for collaboration. Topics may include open source governance, inner source, community building, security and compliance, contribution strategies, procurement, and cross-industry collaboration.
The agenda will be shaped collaboratively with the LF Energy OSPO SIG community. If you have ideas for discussion topics, case studies, or challenges you would like to address, we encourage you to join the SIG and help shape the session.

Welcome to the official in-person meetup for the Edge Interoperability and Flexibility Special Interest Group (SIG), held in conjunction with the LF Energy Summit!
As the energy grid becomes increasingly decentralized, managing the grid edge is more critical than ever. This SIG focuses on establishing open-source standards, architectures, and software to seamlessly integrate Distributed Energy Resources (DERs)—like solar inverters, batteries, and smart home systems—into the wider energy ecosystem.

What to expect:

• Networking: Connect with fellow developers, grid operators, and energy transition advocates.
• Collaboration: Discuss current interoperability challenges, share insights on grid flexibility, and brainstorm solutions.
• Onboarding: Learn how you can actively contribute to the SIG's goals and ongoing projects.

The 7K Challenge is an open, objective competition that puts a realistic 7,000-bus model of the French transmission grid into the hands of researchers and companies worldwide, and asks them to reconstruct its power injections into a credible, physically sound operating point. Coordinated by RTE and CRESYM, with the challenge designed and run by eRoots, it is a rare proving ground where new methods meet a real national-scale grid and are judged on the same transparent metrics.

Join the LF Energy Grid Simulation and Modeling SIG for an interactive pre-conference workshop focused on data model interoperability in energy and grid planning. Bring your YAMLs, JSONs, schemas, and model specifications, and work hands-on with fellow participants to explore how different tools and data models connect in practice. We’ll continue on the outcomes of a previous workshop hosted by G-PST about data schema’s.

This will be an interactive, in-person workshop created by the OpenSTEF community. The agenda and content will be shaped collaboratively through our OpenSTEF community meetings and shared at a later stage. If you have ideas, topics you'd like to explore, or suggestions for the program, we encourage you to join the community meetings and help shape the workshop. About OpenSTEF
OpenSTEF is an open-source Python package that uses automated machine learning workflows to deliver accurate and explainable probabilistic short-term energy forecasts for grid load, typically from hours to days ahead.
